If you are in business and employ staff then under the Pensions Act whether you employ one or one hundred staff you have to put certain staff into a pension scheme often called “Auto enrolment” or “Workplace pension”
There is frankly a lot involved in setting up and maintaining such a scheme and just have a look at the Pensions Regulator site at www.thepensionsregulator.gov.uk to see exactly what is involved.

If having had a look you are feeling slightly overwhelmed by the whole process and are concerned about the fines and penalties that will come your way if you get it wrong then now would be a good time to get in touch with your Accountant to find out more about what you have to do and how they will be able to help and what the whole new scheme will cost your business.
If you don’t have an accountant then now might well be a good time to put into practice the old adage “horses for courses” and get one appointed.
